Abstract

Title:Analysis of international police cooperation between the Republic of Slovenia and the countries of Southeastern Europe
Abstract:
Due to the turbulent events, especially at the end of the twentieth century, the countries of Southeastern Europe are facing security challenges related primarily to international organized crime, as the security situation after the wars in the former common state of Yugoslavia led to a deterioration of the security situation in the countries, which was caused by international organized groups that deal with a wide variety of types of crime that bring large profits. International police cooperation is of key importance for the performance of tasks of modern police forces around the world, as the increasing transnationality of crime means that there is a need to exchange information with other police forces in order to successfully prevent, identify and apprehend perpetrators of criminal acts and misdemeanors. The Slovenian police implement international police cooperation through cooperation in various international organizations such as Europol and Interpol, sign bilateral agreements with countries on cooperation in the field of police work, and participate in various international civilian missions and other missions. Good international relations with other countries are also the basis for successful international police cooperation.
