Abstract
Kalcijevi ioni (Ca2+) so pomembni sekundarni obveščevalci, ki sodelujejo tako pri razvoju rastline kot pri odzivih na abiotski in biotski stres. V obeh zaščitnih plasteh rastlinske imunosti se po zaznavi biotskega dražljaja oblikuje specifičen Ca2+ signal preko delovanja kalcijevih kanalčkov in aktivnih transporterjev. Nastali signal prepoznajo kalcijevi signalni receptorji, ki ga pretvorijo v specifičen imunski odziv preko pozitivne ali negativne regulacije tarčnih proteinov (transkripcijski faktorji, kanalčki, proteinske kinaze …), s čimer povezujejo Ca2+ obveščanje s proizvodnjo reaktivnih kisikovih spojin, hormonskim obveščanjem, prepisovanjem obrambnih genov, hipersenzitivnim odzivom in drugimi procesi. Zaradi vseh teh pomembnih regulatornih vlog ter vse večjega tehnološkega napredka na področju genske transformacije in preurejanja genoma predstavljajo kalcijevi signalni receptorji in njihovi tarčni proteini prihodnost razvoja proti patogenom odpornih poljščin.

Title:Influence of calcium signal receptors on plant innate immunity
Abstract:
Calcium ions (Ca2+) are important secondary messengers involved in both plant development and responses to abiotic and biotic stress. In both layers of plant immunity, following the detection of a biotic stimulus, a specific Ca2+ signal is generated through the action of calcium channels and active transporters. This signal is recognized by calcium binding proteins, which convert it into a specific immune response through the positive or negative regulation of target proteins (transcription factors, channels, protein kinases, etc.), thus linking Ca2+ signalling with the production of reactive oxygen species, hormonal signalling, the transcription of defence genes, hypersensitive responses, and more. Due to these important regulatory roles, as well as the increasing technological advances in genetic transformation and genome editing, calcium signalling receptors and their target proteins represent the future of developing pathogen-resistant crops.
