Abstract
V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene značilnosti ekoloških materialov, s poudarkom na ekoloških papirjih, izbranih tehnikah tiska, tiskarskih barvah in procesu recikliranja. Priročnik ozavešča bralce o varovanju okolja, pomenu trajnosti in ekološkega odtisa.

Title:Creating environmentally friendly travel guide
Abstract:
Tourism materials such as travel guides, brochures, and other promotional printed products are often made from non-sustainable and non-biodegradable materials that are difficult to recycle. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to design a travel guide using environmentally friendly materials, thereby reducing its ecological footprint. As part of the thesis, three different types of paper were tested: Kaffe papier (V1), an uncoated, 100-% recycled paper containing 5 % waste from coffee production; Crush (V2), an uncoated paper containing 30 % recycled fibers, with 15 % of the cellulose replaced by agricultural and industrial corn residues; and Munken Kristall (V3), an uncoated wood-free paper made from 100-% primary cellulose fibers, with an allowed addition of up to 5 % wood-containing fibers. The theoretical part presents the characteristics of ecological materials, with a focus on eco-friendly papers, selected printing techniques, printing inks, and the recycling process. The experimental part focused on a comparative analysis of the three selected paper samples. The analysis included basic, surface, structural, optical, printing and mechanical properties. The results of the research showed that the most suitable sample for the production of the travel guide was V1, Kaffe papier. The final product is a travel guide to the primorsko-notranjska region, enriched with original illustrations that vividly depict natural attractions and various opportunities for sports activities. The guide raises awareness about environmental protection, the importance of sustainability, and ecological footprint.
