Abstract
Diplomska naloga podrobno obravnava različne sisteme za zmanjševanje emisij ladijskih motorjev, pri čemer se osredotoča na tehnologije, kot so selektivna katalitična redukcija (SCR), recirkulacija izpušnih plinov (EGR), pralniki (Scrubberji) in uporaba nizko žveplovih ali alternativnih goriv. Naloga poleg tehničnih rešitev analizira tudi finančne posledice novih okoljskih zahtev za ladjarje ter vlogo konvencije MARPOL in predpisov Evropske unije pri zmanjševanju emisij. Rezultati kažejo, da so sodobne tehnologije sposobne znatno zmanjšati emisije, vendar pogosto prinašajo visoke začetne stroške in kompleksnost pri implementaciji. Kljub temu so dolgoročne koristi, kot so manjši vpliv na okolje in skladnost s predpisi, ključnega pomena za prihodnost trajnostnega ladijskega prometa.

Title:MARINE ENGINES EMISSION REDUCTION SYSTEMS
Abstract:
This thesis thoroughly examines various systems for reducing emissions from ship engines, focusing on technologies such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), scrubbers, and the use of low-sulfur or alternative fuels. In addition to technical solutions, the thesis also analyzes the financial implications of new environmental requirements for shipowners, as well as the role of the MARPOL convention and European Union regulations in reducing emissions. The results show that modern technologies are capable of significantly reducing emissions, but they often come with high initial costs and implementation complexity. Nevertheless, long-term benefits such as a reduced environmental impact and compliance with regulations are crucial for the future of sustainable maritime transport
