In my diploma thesis I analysed the attitudes of preschool teachers towards the use of problem picture books in kindergarten. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an
empirical part.
In the theoretical part, I mainly focussed on the problem picture book. I defined the picture book and the problem picture book and described their development throughout
history, both in Slovenia and abroad. I also looked at the way the problem picture book is used in kindergarten, the presence of the problem picture book in the curricula of
higher education programmes for pre-school education at pedagogical faculties in Slovenia and its presence in the curriculum for kindergarten.
In the empirical part of my work, I used a questionnaire for preschool teachers to investigate the attitudes of preschool teachers towards the use of problem picture books in kindergarten. The results of the study show, among other things, that preschool teachers have a positive attitude towards the use of problem picture books in kindergarten.
