Abstract
Z deskriptivno statistiko so predstavljene značilnosti subvencioniranih knjig, vključno z njihovo povprečno ceno, številom strani in velikostjo založb, ki so jih izdale.

Title:Comparison of Prices of Subsidized Books by Slovenian Publishers
Abstract:
The master thesis examines the impact of subsidies on the prices of books published by Slovenian publishers and analyses the factors influencing the pricing of book editions. The aim of the research is to find out whether public funding contributes to more affordable book prices or whether other market factors determine prices more than subsidies. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the characteristics of the Slovenian book market, the role of subsidies in publishing and regulatory mechanisms such as the law on the uniform price of books. In order to gain a deeper insight into the subsidised market, descriptions of publishers that received a subsidy in 2023 through programme or project funding are added. The empirical part is based on an analysis of data from COBISS, portal Enotna cena knjige and JAKRS calls for proposalls. Descriptive statistics are used to present the characteristics of the subsidised books, including their average price, number of pages and the size of the publishing houses that published them. Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression are used to investigate the relationship between the level of subsidies and the final price of books, and to identify which factors, other than subsidies, have the greatest impact on pricing. Particular emphasis is given to comparative analysis between different categories of publishers and to an investigation of their pricing policies.
