Abstract
V diplomskem delu smo preučili količino in kakovost korenov razpoložljivega sortimenta pastinaka (Pastinaca sativa). Poskus je bil izveden na lokaciji poskusnega polja Biotehniške fakultete v Ljubljani leta 2021. Uporabili smo dve stari populacijski sorti, 'Bielas' in 'Halblanger', ter hibridno sorto 'Palace F1'. Direktno setev smo opravili 19. aprila 2021, rastna doba vseh treh sort je bila 192 dni. Tekom raziskave smo ugotovili, da se je najbolje izkazala sorta 'Palace F1', in to tako po številu pridelanih korenov, številu tržnih korenov, delitvi korenov v kakovostne razrede kot tudi po tržni delitvi korenov na kakovostne razrede. Pri meritvah mase posameznih korenov se je nekoliko bolje izkazala sorta 'Halblanger' v primerjavi s sorto 'Palace F1', vendar je bila izenačenost korenov boljša pri hibridni sorti. Tudi pri meritvah dolžine in premera korenov se je bolje izkazala sorta 'Halblanger', vendar so bila opazna večja odstopanja oziroma razlike med posameznimi koreni. Kljub temu je sorta 'Palace F1' najbolj izenačena. Pri premeru stržena je zaželen čim manjši premer, ki smo ga izmerili pri sorti 'Palace F1'. Glede na obarvanost korenov nismo zaznali večjih ali bistvenih razlik med sortami. Izmerjena barvna razlika s pomočjo kolorimetra med sortama 'Bielas' in 'Halbanger' (1,17) ter 'Bielas' in 'Palace F1' (2,22) nakazuje, da se koreni med seboj razlikujejo po izmerjeni barvi. Razlika v obarvanosti floema in stržena je bila zaznana le pri sorti 'Bielas'. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da imajo vse tri sorte šilasto oblikovane korenine, pri čemer so vsi spodnji deli korenov priostreni. Pri sortah 'Palace F1' in 'Halblanger' smo ugotovili, da imata vdolbeno oblikovano glavo korena, medtem ko ima sorta 'Bielas' ravno oblikovano glavo korena. Glede količine pridelka lahko zaključimo, da je bila sorta 'Palace F1' najboljša, sledila ji je sorta 'Halblanger', na tretjem mestu pa je sorta 'Bielas'.

Title:The quantity and quality of the available assortment of parsnips (Pastinaca sativa)
Abstract:
In this thesis, we investigated the quantity and quality of roots of an available parsnip (Pastinaca sativa) cultivar. The experiment was carried out at the experimental field site of the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana in 2021. Two old varieties, 'Bielas' and 'Halblanger', and a hybrid cultivar 'Palace F1' were used. Direct sowing was carried out on 19 April 2021 and the growing period of all three cultivars was 192 days. During the survey, we found that the 'Palace F1' cultivars performed best in terms of the number of roots produced, the number of marketable roots, the division of roots into quality classes and the marketable division of roots into quality classes. When measuring the weight of individual roots, the cultivar 'Halblanger' performed slightly better than the cultivar 'Palace F1', but the uniformity of roots was better in the cultivar variety. The 'Halblanger' cultivar also performed better in the measurements of root length and diameter, but there were greater variations or differences between individual roots. Nevertheless, the cultivar 'Palace F1' remained the most evenly matched. For the diameter of the stem, it is preferable to keep the diameter as small as possible, which was measured for the 'Palace F1' cultivar. No major or significant differences were observed between the varieties with regard to root colour. The colour difference measured by calorimeter between 'Bielas' and 'Halbanger' (1,17) and 'Bielas' and 'Palace F1' (2,22) is different, indicating that the roots differ in the colour measured. The only difference in phloem and rhizome colouration was found in the cultivar 'Bielas'. All three varieties were found to have taproots with a slender shape, with all the lower parts of the roots being sharpened. The cultivar 'Palace F1' and 'Halblanger' were found to have a concave root head, while 'Bielas' has a flat root head. In terms of yield, 'Palace F1' was the best cultivar, followed by 'Halblanger' and in third place by 'Bielas'.
