Abstract
V diplomskem delu obravnavamo določitev lokacije pomožne postaje satelitskega teleporta podjetja STN d. o. o. na območju Slovenije. Glavni cilj naloge je bil identificirati optimalno lokacijo, ki bi omogočala neprekinjeno delovanje teleporta STN ob neugodnih vremenskih razmerah na matični lokaciji. Pri določanju lokacije smo upoštevali ključne dejavnike, kot so vremenske razmere, topografske značilnosti terena (naklon površja in višina obzorja) ter dostopnost cestnega omrežja. Za analizo vremenskih pogojev smo uporabili radarske posnetke Agencije Republike Slovenije za okolje (ARSO), na katerih je bil prikazan podatek vertikalno integrirane tekočine (VIL), ki je pomemben pokazatelj intenzitete neviht. Uporabili smo deterministične in statistične metode analize korelacije vremenskih razmer med območji v Sloveniji in teleportom. Z rezultati vremenske analize smo izbrali najprimernejša območja, na katerih smo nato izvedli podrobnejše analize terena in prometnih povezav. Analiza površja je temeljila na podatkih digitalnega modela višin (DMV 0050), ki jih nudi Geodetska uprava Republike Slovenije. Z uporabo geografskih informacijskih sistemov (QGIS, GRASS GIS) smo izračunali naklon površja in določili višino odprtega obzorja v različnih smereh proti geostacionarni orbiti. S tako dobljenimi podatki smo izločili območja, ki zaradi prestrmega terena ali ovir v smeri satelitske komunikacije niso primerna za umestitev postaje. Dodatno smo analizirali gostoto in dostopnost cestnega omrežja, saj je bližina prometnic ključnega pomena za enostavno vzdrževanje postaje. Končni rezultat naloge je kartografska predstavitev primernih območij za postavitev pomožne postaje teleporta STN. Med najbolj ustreznimi lokacijami so se izkazale Slovenska Istra, okolica Novega mesta ter Bela krajina. Rezultati raziskave predstavljajo pomembno podlago za nadaljnje odločitve o vzpostavitvi pomožne postaje, ki bo zagotavljala stabilno satelitsko komunikacijo ne glede na vremenske pogoje.

Title:Determination of the Location of an Auxiliary Satellite Teleport Station in Slovenia : graduation thesis
Abstract:
In this thesis, we investigated the selection of a site for an auxiliary satellite teleport station in Slovenia. The main objective was to identify an optimal location that would enable uninterrupted operation of the STN teleport even if the main location was subject to unfavorable weather conditions. When determining the location, key factors such as weather conditions, topographical terrain characteristics (surface slope and horizon height), and the accessibility of the road network were taken into account. For the analysis of weather conditions, we used radar images from the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO), which display data on vertically integrated liquid (VIL), an important indicator of the intensity of thunderstorms. Deterministic and statistical methods were employed to analyze the correlation of weather conditions between various regions in Slovenia and the STN teleport. Based on the results of the weather analysis, the most suitable areas were selected for further detailed analyses of the terrain and transportation networks. The analysis of the terrain was based on the data from of the digital elevation model (DMV 0050) provided by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia. With the help of the geographic information systems (QGIS, GRASS GIS) we calculated the surface slope and determined the horizon height in various directions to the geostationary orbit. Based on this data, we excluded areas with excessive terrain slope or obstacles in the direction of satellite communication that were unsuitable for the installation of the station. Additionally, we analyzed the density and accessibility of the road network, as proximity to transportation routes is crucial for easy maintenance of the station. The result of the study is a cartographic representation of suitable areas for the establishment of an auxiliary teleport station. The most suitable locations were identified as Slovenian Istria, the area around Novo mesto, and Bela krajina. The findings of this study form an important basis for further decisions on the establishment of an auxiliary station that could ensure stable satellite communication regardless of weather conditions.
