Abstract

Title:Production of ammonia from renewable energy sources
Abstract:
Increasing demand for ammonia, along with the urgency for sustainable solutions, has led to the exploration of ammonia production from renewable energy sources. This study analyses the potential use of solar energy and electrolysis for hydrogen production, which is then utilized in the Haber-Bosch process. The methodological approach includes Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and environmental impact evaluation in accordance with the RED III methodology. The research focuses on modelling different energy sources and analysing greenhouse gas emissions associated with the ammonia production process. The results demonstrate that CO₂ emissions can be significantly reduced compared to conventional methods, with the composition of the electricity mix playing a crucial role.
