Abstract
The thesis describes the design and implementation of an automated IoTbased payment system tailored for accommodation services. The system leverages modern embedded technologies, specifically the ESP32 microcontroller, combined with a custom backend to enable secure, reliable, and efficient cash handling without the need for the host’s physical presence. The payment system is integrated within a modified safe, equipped with a touch display and a banknote validator, ensuring secure transactions. It communicates with a server via a REST API, providing real-time updates and management capabilities through a web-based frontend. The solution is adaptable and scalable, capable of meeting the evolving needs of the hospitality industry.

Title:Avtomatiziran IoT plačilni sistem za nastanitvene storitve
Abstract:
Diplomsko delo opisuje oblikovanje in implementacijo plačilnega sistema na osnovi tehnologij IoT za potrebe nastanitvenih storitev. Sistem izkorišča sodobne vgrajene tehnologije, natančneje mikrokrmilnik ESP32, ki je povezan z namenskim strežnikom za zagotavljanje varnega, zanesljivega in učinkovitega upravljanja gotovinskih transakcij brez fizične prisotnosti gostitelja. Plačilni sistem je integriran v predelan sef, opremljen z zaslonom na dotik in validatorjem bankovcev, kar zagotavlja varne transakcije. Komunikacija s strežnikom poteka prek REST API-ja, kar omogoča sprotne posodobitve in upravljanje prek spletnega vmesnika. Rešitev je prilagodljiva in razširljiva, kar omogoča zadovoljevanje nenehno spreminjajočih se zahtev turistične industrije.
