In this master's thesis, we analyzed the swimming proficiency results of students at Mokronog Primary School and compared their performance with regional and national averages for the academic years 2013/14 to 2018/19.
The results show that, on average, 97.6% of Mokronog Primary School students achieve the status of a swimmer by the end of the third twenty-hour swimming course. Among them, 67.6% reach the level of the Bronze Dolphin, 24.7% the Silver Dolphin, and 5.3% the Gold Dolphin. These results are higher than the national (92.2%) and regional (91%) averages for the 2013/14 to 2018/19 school years. We found that by the end of the third twenty-hour swimming course, most students achieve a high level of swimming proficiency.
The study emphasizes the importance of regular and comprehensive swimming education in primary schools and highlights areas for potential improvement, such as encouraging more students to achieve higher levels of swimming proficiency.
We conclude that the swimming program at Mokronog Primary School serves as an excellent model for primary school swimming education, as their students consistently achieve superior results in national comparisons.
