The aim of this thesis is to explore the process of creating a puppet show for adults, based on an artwork as an inspiration for the work. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on cultural and artistic education and its positive impact on each individual person. It also highlights the basic elements and components of theatre, such as text, stage, music, sound, speech, and performing space. The central theme of the thesis is the process of creating a puppet show, where I discuss the beginnings of its creation, first ideas, theme and roles that are needed for making a show. I write about importance of good puppet animation and choosing the right puppet technique for the show. Two of them are described in more detail, because they are used in the practical part of the thesis.
In the second part of the thesis, I provide a detailed description of the entire process of creating the pupppet show »Kradljivec« which was inspired by the painting of Gabrijel Stupica – Atelje. Through student surveys and my own notes, I explore how the puppet show develops from idea to execution, how it can be successfully shaped through teamwork and collaboration, and what the students' experiences are throughout the entire project.
