In our work, we optimized the workflow for the animation of production lines within the Blender program. The goal was to improve the efficiency and quality of animations and reduce the complexity of processing. Key challenges included the scale of the models, the complexity of their geometric structures, and the animation of those in the same file, which put heavy loads on the hardware and increased the production time and even made it impossible to create.
The workflow was optimized using two approaches. The first was to reduce the number of model polygons. This goal was achieved using various techniques such as model decimation (reducing model complexity without significant impact on visual quality) and geometry simplification by grouping redundant geometry and removing hidden surfaces. These methods made it possible to significantly reduce the number of polygons, which relieved the processing power and preserved the visual integrity of the final rendering.
Another approach was to combine models from different files into a single file. Using file linking functionality, models from different sources were combined. The careful management of files allowed for a more organized project structure. This approach improved the overview of the project and simplified the work with larger animations, as all components were integrated and organized in a single file.
The results showed that the combination of both methods greatly improved the animation efficiency of complex production lines in Blender. The number of polygons was reduced, while the animations kept their quality and became easier to process. The orderly structure of the projects enabled a faster workflow, more efficient organization and the possibility of group work on the same project.
