The master's thesis focuses on the design of the book Kam so šle vse prasice in druga zgodovina slovenske drag scene. The book addresses the topic of drag in Slovenia, with an emphasis on the often-overlooked stories of local artists. The primary goal of the thesis was to design a book that would be graphically appropriate for the chosen topic and would present the selected content to the reader clearly.
Based on research into the significance and development of drag in Slovenia and abroad, supported by stories from the Slovenian drag community, we created a draft of the book design. With the help of the local community, we also gathered photographic material and obtained the necessary permissions for its use.
Knowledge of graphic elements present in books and familiarity with foreign literature on similar topics proved useful in the design process. By considering the graphic fundamentals and the content of the book, we developed a plan for the book's layout, including the selection of colors, fonts, and other graphic materials and their placement. The design process began with the book cover upon which all subsequent illustrations within the book were based. The illustrations were placed in a meaningful relationship with the selected photographs and text. The final product included the book cover, introductory pages, and a graphic draft for one chapter. The book was designed based on the concept of an infinite film strip, with graphics suggesting the continued development of this form of art.
