Abstract

Title:Določanje motivacijskih dejavnikov pri sofrtverskih [i. e. softverskih] inženirjih in vpliv teh dejavnikov na zadrževanje: primer Republike Severne Makednije [i. e.] Makedonije
Abstract:
Employee motivation is a well-researched concept which is linked to staff retention. Its understanding is vital for gaining organizational advantage in today’s competitive labor market, especially in the fluctuating IT sector. In the focus of this research are software engineers in North Macedonia. The purpose is to understand the factors that influence their motivation and retention in today’s conditions of high demand for skilled labor in the IT field. Using the Job Diagnostic Survey (JDS), the study addresses a literature gap having in mind the region's unique socio-economic context. Research has shown that while engineers report high job satisfaction driven by internal motivation, improvements are needed in task identity and significance; gender and age differences also show that female engineers tend to be more satisfied, while younger engineers prioritize extrinsic rewards, highlighting the need for tailored development strategies.
