In a qualitative research on the topic: Obstacles in a process of establishing supervised sites program for drug users in Slovenia, we investigated what the current challenges are in establishing a safe room program, what are the views of various stakeholders who are important or could be included in the establishment process, what is the view and opinion of the general public on its establishment. We also included the impact and importance of field and youth/peer work in open scenes, the current state of drug use, the needs and views of substance users and we also touched on the results of already existing good practices in our country and elsewhere in Europe. We also researched the previous work of the past 20 years, which was done in the field of drug consumption rooms in Slovenia and analyzed the obstacles that prevented the establishment of such programs. We also focused on the importance of including various professions and services and cooperation between them.
