At company Hella Saturnus Slovenija d.o.o., the quality of lacquered surface area is being determined by manual processes. This document describes the process of lacquer thickness measurement with spectrometer Transpec Lite and Cross-cut test, a method for assessing the resistance of lacquer coating. The goal of this thesis was to automate these manual processes. We developed a concept of a collaborative robot application for determining the quality of lacquered surface area on teh company products. The products are called radomes. They represent an automobile emblem, mounted on the front of the car. The collaborative application concept used the existing equipment of the manual quality process. The thesis presents the whole development process, from describing the current measurement process, the theoretical background of spectrometer operations and the final development of the application. In the application we used collaborative robotUR5, which held the probe of the Transpec Lite spectrometer. The spectrometer is controlled by a user interface made in Microsoft Excel, developed in Excel VBA code. The interface communicated through OPC UA protocol with the Siemens PLC. The latter communicated with the UR5 robot through Profinet protocol. The user interface also features help to correctly carry out the Cross-cut test, which also helps with automatic generation of the results of both tests. Finally, we evaluated the concept with the MSA analysis, which confirmed the reliability and accuracy of the newly developed automatic collaborative application.
