Abstract
Uporaba digitalne tehnologije je vse bolj prisotna v izobraževalnih sistemih, tudi v osnovni šoli. Za učenčev uspeh je pomembno, da ima dobro poznavanje in razumevanje digitalne tehnologije, saj je vse več spletnega učnega gradiva, ki se uporablja tudi pri pouku. V raziskavi smo se torej osredotočili na to, kako digitalna pismenost učencev 4. in 5. razreda vpliva na usvajanje novega znanja s področja računalništva z uporabo spletnega učnega gradiva Obvladam računalništvo. Za pridobitev in analizo podatkov je bila uporabljena kvantitativna metoda raziskovanja. Podatke smo analizirali s pomočjo statističnih metod, da bi z njimi odgovorili na zastavljena raziskovalna vprašanja. Ugotovili smo, da se pojavljajo statistično pomembne razlike med učenci 4. in 5. razreda, tako v predznanju kot v končnem znanju o arhitekturi računalnika, vendar pri znanju o delovanju digitalnih naprav teh razlik ni bilo zaznati. Prav tako smo ugotovili, da pri uporabi spletnega učnega gradiva digitalne kompetence učencev na splošno nimajo vpliva na usvojeno znanje. Vpliv digitalnih kompetenc se je pokazal ob usvajanju znanja o delovanju digitalnih naprav pri fantih, kjer so imeli fantje z višjo stopnjo digitalnih kompetenc višje dosežke pri usvajanju znanja za to temo. V magistrskem delu smo opisali način, kako lahko učitelji učinkovito uporabijo digitalno tehnologijo za poučevanje računalniških tem. Razumevanje tem s področja računalništva je pomembno tudi za kakovostno razvijanje digitalnih kompetenc učencev.

Title:Impact of the digital literacy of 4th and 5th grade students on their computer science learning using the online learning material mastering computing
Abstract:
The use of digital technology is becoming more and more prevalent in education systems, including primary school. It is important for student success that they have a good knowledge and understanding of digital technology, as more and more online learning materials are being used in the classroom. In this study, we therefore focused on how the digital literacy of pupils in Years 4 and 5 influences the acquisition of new knowledge in computing using the online learning material Mastering Computing. A quantitative research method was used to obtain and analyse the data. The data were analysed using statistical methods to answer the research questions. We found that there were statistically significant differences between 4th and 5th graders in both prior knowledge and final knowledge of computer architecture, but no differences in knowledge of how digital devices work. We also found that, when using online learning materials, students' digital competences did not generally have an impact on the knowledge acquired. However, the impact of digital competences was evident in the boys' acquisition of knowledge about the functioning of digital devices, where boys with higher levels of digital competences had higher achievement in the acquisition of knowledge on this topic. In this master thesis we describe how teachers can effectively use digital technology to teach computing topics. Understanding computing topics is also important for the quality development of students' digital competences.
