Abstract
Ugotovljene negovalne diagnoze, kot so nespečnost, nemoč in okrnjeno udobje, so ključno povezane z zmanjšano kakovostjo življenja, kar zahteva celostno obravnavo.

Title:Standardized nursing diagnoses with women having menopausal issues : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: menopause is the cessation of mensturation due to the discontinuitation of ovarian follicle activity. The connection between nursing, nursing diagnoses, and menopause symptoms ensures that nursing care is centered on women. It enables nurses to comprehensively address the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges associated with menopause. Purpose: the purpose of the thesis is to present the most common symptoms women encounter during the menopausal period and to establish NANDA-I nursing diagnoses. Work methods: a descriptive method was used. The theoretical foundations were based on literature form databases such as CINAHL, PubMed, and Cochrane Library, published between 2004 and 2024. Keywords to identify the literature included “menopause”, “menopausal women”, “nursing diagnosis”, “prevalence”, and “menopausal pain relief”. A total of 44 literature sources were utilized for the thesis. Results: during the menopausal period, the following nursing diagnoses may be present: impaired comfort, insomnia, risk of overweight, powerlessness, inability to perform activities, urgent urinary incontinence, ineffective sexuality patterns, and impaired physical mobility. It was found that three nursing diagnoses fall under the domain Activity/Rest, and one each under the domains of Comfort, Nutrition, Coping/Stress tolerance, Elimination and Exchange, and Sexuality. Discussion: menopause involves complex challenges that combine physical, psychological, and social aspects of women’s health. Identified nursing diagnoses, such as insomnia, powerlessness, and impaired comfort, are crucially linked to a reduced quality of life, requiring a holistic approach. The need for greater integration of psychological support was also emphasized, as inadequately managed psychosocial issues often further burden patients. Further research could contribute to the development of guidelines for more effective care focusing on the individual needs and specific symptoms of menopausal patients. Conclusion: women in the menopausal period need the support of a nurse. Based on the nursing diagnoses, the nurse should provide women with well-founded advice, refer them to reliable sources, and deliver accurate information.
