Oblikovanje in izdelava avtorske knjige

Namen diplomskega dela je bil oblikovati in izdelati avtorsko knjigo in brošuro. Vsebina diplomskega dela je razdeljena na več sklopov. V teoretičnem delu je pojasnjeno, kaj je knjiga in kaj je brošura ter kakšne vrste poznamo. Nadalje je predstavljena teorija izdelave knjige in brošure, pri čemer so predstavljeni grafična priprava, tisk in grafična dodelava omenjenih izdelkov. V tem delu so predstavljeni deli trde vezave in mehke vezave oziroma knjige in brošure. Prav tako je bil izveden pregled stanja na trgu podobnih tipov izdelkov. V drugem sklopu so opisani uporabljeni materiali in metode ter procesi, ki so vodili od idejne zasnove pa vse do grafične dodelave oziroma končnih izdelkov. Najprej sta bila izbrana format in velikost zrcala, nato določena pisava in njena velikost ter nastavljena mreža za oba izdelka. Nato smo naredili prelom besedila in dodali grafične elemente. Sledila sta oblikovanje naslovnice in priprava za tisk. V nadaljevanju so bile ročno izdelane platnice in izvedeni trda vezava in mehka vezava. Rezultat diplomskega dela sta izdelani avtorska knjiga in brošura. Cilj diplomske naloge je bil spoznati celoten postopek izdelave knjige in brošure, preučiti in predstaviti celoten proces izdelave, od začetne ideje in načrtovanja do končnih izdelkov. Želeli smo oblikovati privlačno platnico knjige ter napisati zanimivo vsebino.

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis was to design and produce an original book and brochure. The content of the thesis is divided into several sections. The theoretical part explains what a book and a brochure are, as well as the types of each. Furthermore, the theory of book and brochure production is presented, including graphic preparation, printing, and post-press finishing processes for these products. This section also outlines the components of hardcover and softcover binding, that is, books and brochures. Additionally, an analysis of the market for similar types of products was conducted. The second section describes the materials and methods used, as well as the processes leading from the initial concept to post-press finishing and the final products. The process began with selecting the format and the size of the print area, followed by determining the typeface and its size and setting up the grid for both products. The next step was text layout and the addition of graphic elements. This was followed by cover design and print preparation. Subsequently, the covers were handmade, and hardcover and softcover binding were performed. The final result of the thesis is the creation of an original book and brochure. The aim of the thesis was to understand the entire process of book and brochure production, to study and present the complete production process, from the initial idea and planning to the final products. In the meantime, we aimed to design an attractive book cover and write engaging content.
