Abstract

Title:The connection between employee engagement and management practices in selected ministries
Abstract:
The master's thesis deals with the topic of the connection between employee engagement and management practices on the example of ministries in Slovenia. The main reason for choosing the topic is that engaged employees are becoming an increasingly important factor in organizations, as they effectively influence the successfully completed work, but on the other hand, management is still insufficiently concerned with measuring the level of engagement of its employees and at the same time with improving management practices, so that the employees are also fully satisfied with them. The purpose of the master's thesis is to analyze the connection between management practices and employee engagement in selected ministries in Slovenia. It was determined how engaged employees are in Slovenia and whether there is actually a connection between the fact that engaged employees are actually satisfied with each individual management practice, or in other words - is it conditional that everyone who considers engaged within the selected ministries the employee also actually rates the individual management practices of the managers highly. In the master's thesis, the main research method used is a surveying in addition to the study of literature and sources. The results of the research show that a lot still needs to be done both in the area of employee engagement and in the area of improving management practices. The employees of the selected ministries in Slovenia still belong to the category of disengaged, while the results also show that the employees are still far from satisfied with each of the management practices analyzed. The contribution of the research is important, as no research has yet been done on this topic on Slovenian soil, but at the same time, this research is a good starting point for further analysis for other organizations in the public sector.
