The paper presents memorials to members of the Karađorđević royal family, which were unveiled in Slovenia in the interwar period and were most often dedicated to kings Peter I and Alexander I. In order for the Karađorđevićs to consolidate their ruling legitimacy on the territory of the new country and strengthen the Yugoslav identity of their citizens, various propaganda techniques were used, among which the planning and ceremonial unveiling of public monuments was one of the most important. In Slovenia, two equestrian statues, a few full body statues and busts, and a number of memorials, plaques and reliefs were dedicated to the monarchs. Commemorative linden trees were also planted in many places in memory of King Alexander. Although the monuments were mostly demolished after the start of the Second World War, some are still preserved in their original location or in museums.
