The thesis is based on the analysis of the selected documentary film The Social Dilemma in the light of the film's presentation of the issue it addresses. In the beginning it presents the documentary film as a film genre and determines the genre in which the film can be placed. It also briefly describes general information about the selected film, gives a definition of the concept of social media and its main characteristics. In the main part the thesis focuses on the analysis of the film, in which, through the discussion about the selected topics, it discusses the elements of the film language and creative decisions of the authors, who chose both traditional documentary and narrative approach (with the latter, there is a more noticeable tendency towards manipulation), which is why the film is classified as a hybrid documentary. The aforementioned issue is considered sociologically in the context of a wider impact on society. In addition to the presentation of the negative effects of manipulation of algorithms on an individual, such as addiction, immersion in (false) information, which is created on the basis of data and history of searching and reading content, and "likes" that affect one's sense of self-worth, the film also offers the possibility of reflection and a broader view of modern society.
