Abstract
V uvodnem delu so predstavljeni zgodovina razvoja baterij, sestava in delovanje polnilnih baterij ter opis posameznih polnilnih baterij s tabelo zmogljivosti različnih baterijskih tehnologij. V naslednjem poglavju spoznamo funkcije in različne topologije sistemov BMS. Nato sledi osrednji del, zasnova in projektiranje testnega tiskanega vezja za preverjanje delovanja aktivnega balansiranja z uporabo integriranega vezja TL8584. Na koncu so podani še rezultati testiranj končnega izdelka in zaključne ugotovitve ter opažanja.

Title:
Development of active balancing and integration into the existing system BMS
Abstract:
The thesis is related to prove of the active balancing concept for rechargeable batteries with a test printed circuit board and the subsequent modification of the existing BMS system, which control 28 Volt battery for the Nuuva V300 unmanned aircraft. In the introduction section, you will learn about the history of battery development, the structure and working principle of rechargeable batteries, and a description of individual rechargeable batteries, as well as a table showing the performance of different battery technologies. Active balancing, which is the central subject of the thesis, is also explained in the following chapter regarding the type of battery pack balancing. The theoretical presentation covers the CAN communication protocol used by the BMS system in the existing battery. In the upcoming chapter, we will gain knowledge about the functions and various topologies of BMS systems. Following this is the central part, which involves designing a test printed circuit board to verify the active balancing operation with the LT8584 integrated circuit. A description is given of how the process from LTspice software simulations to physical testing of the prototype circuit is executed. The final chapter focuses on the process of changing the current BMS system by replacing passive balancing with active balancing. The final product testing results and final findings and observations are presented at the end.
