Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava uporabo virtualne resničnosti (VR) pri pomorskem usposabljanju kot inovativnega pristopa k izboljšanju učinkovitosti in interaktivnosti izobraževalnih procesov. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljen pregled tradicionalnih metod pomorskega usposabljanja, njihove omejitve in možnosti za izboljšave z integracijo VR-tehnologij. S pomočjo primerjalne analize in študij primerov so raziskane prednosti, kot so večja varnost, zmanjšanje stroškov in boljše praktične izkušnje, pa tudi izzivi, kot so visoki začetni stroški in tehnične omejitve. Naloga se osredotoča na potencial digitalizacije pomorstva ter v zaključku ponuja predloge za prihodnji razvoj in širšo uporabo VR v pomorskem izobraževanju.

Title:ENHANCING MARITIME TRAINING THROUGH VIRTUAL REALITY
Abstract:
The thesis explores the use of virtual reality (VR) in maritime training as an innovative approach to enhancing the effectiveness and interactivity of educational processes. The theoretical part provides an overview of traditional maritime training methods, their limitations, and opportunities for improvement through the integration of VR technologies. Through comparative analysis and case studies, the advantages, such as increased safety, cost reduction, and improved practical experience, are examined alongside challenges like high initial costs and technical constraints. The thesis focuses on the potential for digitalizing the maritime industry and concludes with recommendations for the future development and broader adoption of VR in maritime education.
