The field of wireless mobile networks is one of the fastest-growing and most advanced areas in communication technology. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology includes numerous devices with low energy consumption and operational costs. The BLE standard ensures compatibility with mobile phones, tablets, and computers, whose numbers continue to rise, making it essential to ensure proper control over their operation.
In this work, we developed a tool for adding and managing BLE devices in Bluetooth Mesh networks. We used selected BLE devices, specifically relay switches, door sensors, and electric radiator valve drives. The solution began as a simple command-line tool in Python and evolved into a comprehensive software solution with a graphical interface in Flutter/Dart. The tool is linked to a PLC program, allowing users to manage devices added and configured through our tool.
In testing and evaluation, we demonstrate the performance of our solution in a test and representative network of various BLE devices and sensors, proving that it performs excellently even in real-world conditions with various interferences.
