Škrbine - Idejna zasnova zgoščevanja mesta Idrija na parcelah od 73 do 5.396 m2

Zaradi eksponentnega naraščanja cen stanovanj, tako v manjših kot tudi večjih mestih, se mladi vse pogosteje odločajo za življenje na podeželju v bližini večjih mest. Idrija, ki je oddaljena od avtocestnega križa in ni povezana z železnico, se sooča z izzivi odseljevanja in staranja prebivalstva. Mesto, znano po svoji petstoletni industrijski zgodovini rudnika, ohranja del dediščine, medtem ko drugi deli propadajo. Zaščita Unescove dediščine živega srebra je spodbudila ustanovitev muzejev in kulturnih ustanov, ki se soočajo s pomanjkanjem obiskovalcev. Pomanjkanje primernih parcel za gradnjo v mestu je bilo povod do identifikacije degradiranih in zapuščenih parcel v središču mesta. Te parcele mi v nalogi predstavljajo osnovo za razvoj novih tipologij bivanja, ki pa nisto primarno atraktivne za gradnjo zaradi svoje posebnosti in neregularnosti. Naloga obravnava več lokacij v središču Idrije, pri čemer vsaka nova intervencija ponuja različne možnosti za zapolnitev praznin mestnega tkiva in povezovanje z že obstoječimi javnimi vsebinami. Revitalizacija mestnega tkiva ni mogoča z enkratnimi velikimi posegi, ampak z vrsto manjših, skrbno načrtovanih intervencij, ki krepijo značaj mesta.

Abstract

Due to the exponential rise in housing prices, both in smaller and larger cities, young people are increasingly choosing to live in rural areas close to larger cities. Idrija, which is far from a highway corridor and is not connected by rail, is facing the challenges of out-migration and an ageing population. The town, known for its 500-year industrial history as a mining town, is preserving some of its heritage while other parts are decaying. The protection of UNESCO’s mercury heritage has encouraged the establishment of museums and cultural institutions, which are facing a lack of visitors. The lack of suitable building plots in the city has led to the identification of degraded and abandoned plots in the city centre. These plots of land provide the basis for the development of new typologies of living, which are not primarily attractive for construction due to their specificity and irregularity.The thesis deals with several sites in the centre of Idrija, each new intervention offering different possibilities for filling the voids of the urban fabric and integrating with the existing public amenities. The revitalization of the urban fabric is not possible through one-off large-scale interventions, but through a series of smaller, carefully planned interventions that reinforce the character of the city.
