Abstract

Title:Generic end-to-end tests for automated testing of custom software library components
Abstract:
This thesis examines the importance of automated testing for software quality assurance. Particular attention is paid to end-to-end tests (E2E), which simulate user interactions with web applications, and to regression testing, which ensures that the application works correctly after changes have been implemented. The thesis compared different automated testing frameworks, focusing on usability in web application testing. The key part of the thesis is the design and development of a framework for automated testing of the components of a software library developed for the needs of an enterprise. The framework is based on design patterns such as the Page Object Model (POM) and the Page Component Object Model (PCOM) and allows for faster and easier test preparation. The evaluation has shown that the framework contributes to more efficient testing and to ensuring software reliability.

Keywords:End-to-end testing, testing framework, automated testing, design patterns, POM, PCOM.
