The article addresses several fundamental questions which have been reflected upon in the poetry by modern Slovene authors, i.e. the meaning of the creative linguistic act, the social environment in which poetry comes into existence and functions, the degree of either limitation or individualisation and expansion into the unknown imposed by the language as the means of establishing links, as wel as the presence of the space characterised by human existence and co-existence in the field of language. The questions raised by poets are not merely aesthetic and may well be described as inherently existential, ontological, epistemological, ethical and therefore universal. The question regarding existence in the Slovene language is addressed by the poet through reflection and enrichment of poetic Slovene boht in content and expression.
