Abstract

Title:Designing collection Betonske sanje
Abstract:
Diploma thesis Designing collection Concrete Dream presents menswear inspired by five Yugoslavian monuments, symbolizing strenght and artistic grandeur. The creative process behind "Concrete Dream" is a blend of architectural inspiration and the family tailoring craft. The collection was brought to life with the help of my grandfather, who worked as a tailor for men's clothing. In the theoretical part of diploma I have researched the architectural background of each five monuments. It also includes an overview and exploration of the exhibition "Toward a Concrete Utopia" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which was one of the key projects that explored and presented the architectural history culture of the former Yugoslavia.. Additionally, the theoretical part also covers the development of the tailoring craft and its impact on contemporary fashion design, as well as a review of influential fashion designers who have revolutionized menswear. In the experimental part, I designed and created a menswear collection based on the visual analysis of the shapes of the monuments, which is reflected in the clothing details and silhouettes.
