The case study examines crisis communication in educational institutions during the covid-19 pandemic. The theoretical part is based on various crisis communication theories and explores key strategies essential for effective reporting during crisis situations. The study focuses on the Situational Crisis Communication Theory, which emphasizes the importance of adaptability and timely information, especially in crises where clear and accurate communication is crucial. The empirical section presents an analysis of communication between the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport (MIZŠ), the Association of Private Nursery Schools of Slovenia, and educational institutions. The focus is on challenges related to the interpretation of instructions, lack of clarity, and the importance of digital communication tools in relation to the improvement of information dissemination. The case study demonstrates how Nursery School Sončni žarek (Ray of sun) successfully adapted its communication to specific circumstances through an innovative approach, while proactively engaging with parents and staff. The findings indicate the need for improvements in future crisis situations, particularly in terms of enhancing two-way communication and fostering empathy.
