Abstract
Moderni del sodobnega slovenskega zgodovinskega romana razvija moderno filozofijo zgodovine; ta relativira novoveški koncept zgodovine kot progresivnosti socialnozgodovinskih stanj, ukinja zgodovinsko linearno časovnost in jo sprevrača v brezkončno cikličnost postaj brez razvoja in smisla. Dogajanje zgodovine razkriva kot - paradoksalno - vselej enako nihilistično, represijsko socialno igro moči. Zato moderni zgodovinski roman uresničuje hkrati tip zgodovinsko-filozofskega in fiktivno zgodovinskega romana: njegova filozofija zgodovine razkrije novoveški koncept zgodovine kot konstrukt, fikcijo oz. zgolj zgodbo

Abstract:
The modern part of the contemporary Slovene historical novel develops a modern philosophy of history. This philosophy relativizes the modern-time concept of history as progression of social-historical stages, abolishes the historical linear temporality and turns it into an eternal cycle of stations without development and meaning. It reveals the passing of history as - paradoxically - always the same nihilistic, repressive social game of power. Therefore the modern historical novel simultaneously realizes the types of historical-philosophical and of fictional historical novel: its philosophy of history reveals the modern-time concept of history as a construction, fiction,or, rather, just a story.
