Abstract
Načrtovanje in nadzor skladiščnih kapacitet sta lahko kompleksen izziv zaradi številnih dejavnikov, kot so netočno napovedovanje povpraševanja, sezonska nihanja, izzivi pri upravljanju zalog, slaba izraba prostora, operativne omejitve, stroški ter okoljski in varnostni predpisi. Celovit pristop vključuje natančno napovedovanje povpraševanja, učinkovito upravljanje zalog, prilagodljivo zasnovo skladišča in napredne tehnološke rešitve. S tem lahko dosežemo boljšo sledljivost, izrabo prostora, učinkovitost poslovanja, prilagodljivost ter nižje izgube in stroške skladiščenja. V diplomskem delu je obravnavano načrtovanje skladiščnih kapacitet s pomočjo simulacijskega modela. Opisan je razvoj skladiščnih sistemov in izzivi, s katerimi se srečujemo pri njihovem načrtovanju. Predstavljena je vloga simulacij v proizvodnji ter primerjava med najpogosteje uporabljenimi simulacijskimi orodji na tem področju. Nadalje so podrobno opisane ključne funkcije orodja Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, ki so bile uporabljene pri našem simulacijskem modelu. Rezultat dela je model skladišča, ki omogoča učinkovito upravljanje skladiščnih kapacitet in sledenje elementom v poljubnem trenutku. Proces vključuje določitev zahtev, razvoj ter opis izdelave funkcionalnega modela.

Title:The Use of Plant Simulation Tool for Planning Warehouse Capacities
Abstract:
Planning and controlling warehouse capacities can be a complex challenge due to numerous factors, such as inaccurate demand forecasting, seasonal fluctuations, inventory management challenges, poor space utilization, operational limitations, costs, and environmental and safety regulations. A comprehensive approach includes accurate demand forecasting, efficient inventory management, flexible warehouse design, and advanced technological solutions. This can lead to better traceability, space utilization, operational efficiency, flexibility, and lower storage losses and costs. This thesis addresses warehouse capacity planning using a simulation model. It describes the development of warehouse systems and the challenges faced in their planning. The role of simulations in production and a comparison of the most commonly used simulation tools in this field are presented. Furthermore, the key functions of Tecnomatix Plant Simulation used in our simulation model are described in detail. The result of this work is a warehouse model that enables efficient management of warehouse capacities and tracking of elements at any given moment. The process includes requirement determination, development, and a description of creating a functional model.
