Abstract
V magistrski raziskavi sem izvedla poglobljeno raziskavo pojma zid, čigar oblika skozi zgodovino ostaja enaka, a se njegova uporabnost spreminja. Ljudem je od nekdaj nudil zaščito in varnost pred zunanjimi vplivi nepredvidljive okolice. Ker so zidovi vpeti v naša življenja iz vseh smeri in različnih oblik, se kljub temu ne zavedamo njihovih drugih lastnosti, zgodovinskih pomenov, izvorov in jih poznamo zgolj kot fizični element. Iz vidika arhitekture predstavlja elementarni element gradnje; iz vidika urbanizma ločevalni, podporni, mejni in skupni zid; iz vidika družbe ima več različnih pojmovanj in razumevanj; iz vidika umetnosti pa lahko kot osnovni kiparski element. Ker je pojem zidu zelo širok in se nanaša na njegovo širše razumevanje in poznavanje, je za to potrebno splošno razumevanje njegovega pomena, ker mu umetnost doda še druge uporabne vloge. Predvsem me zanima odnos ljudi do tega pojma, saj v mnogih vzbudi nelagodje ali pa varnost ter izhaja iz prvih bolj izrazitih vtisov in izkušenj z zidom iz posameznikovega življenja. Velikokrat ga lahko asociiramo kot eno izmed posledic konflikta. Odnos do tega pojma se razlikuje glede na posameznika in njegove temperament, kulturo, vzgojo, zgodovinsko obdobje življenja, vrednote … Treba je razumeti širok spekter zidu, da ga lahko impliciramo v umetnosti, in sicer zato, ker se izkušnja tega pojma razlikuje od posameznika do posameznika, zato ga vsak umetnik drugače predstavi, vsak opazovalec pa drugače razume. Praktični del sem razdelila na dva dela: prvi je predstavitev dveh umetniških del, ki sem ju izdelala na to temo, drugi pa so izvedba in rezultati kvalitativne raziskave, saj sem z anketnim vprašalnikom ugotavljala poznavanje tega fenomena med študenti likovne pedagogike na Pedagoški fakulteti v Ljubljani in njihovo mnenje glede izvedbe in analize tematske povezave mojih razstavljenih kiparskih del s teoretičnim delom.

Title:Walls and their dematerialization in sculptural works
Abstract:
In my master's research, I conducted an in-depth study of the concept of a wall, the shape of which remains the same throughout history, but its usefulness changes. It has always provided people with protection and security from the external influences of an unpredictable environment. Because walls are embedded in our lives from all directions and different forms, we are nevertheless not aware of their other properties, historical meanings, origins, and know them as a physical element. From the architectural point of view, it represents an elementary element of construction; from the urbanistic point of view, a separating, supporting, boundary and common wall; from the societal point of view, it has several different conceptions and understandings; from the artistic point of view, it can be used as a basic sculptural element. Since the concept of wall is very broad and refers to a wider understanding and knowledge of it, this requires a general understanding of its meaning, because art adds other useful roles to it. I am mainly interested in people's attitude towards this concept, as it evokes discomfort or security in many people, and it comes from the first, more pronounced impressions and experiences with the wall from the individual's life. It can often be associated as one of the consequences of conflict. The attitude towards this concept varies depending on the individual and their temperament, culture, upbringing, historical period of life, values... It is necessary to understand the wide spectrum of the wall in order to be able to imply it in art. This is because the experience of this concept varies from individual to individual, so each artist presents it differently and each observer understands it differently. I divided the practical part into two parts; the first is the presentation of two works of art that I made on this topic, and the second was the implementation and results of a qualitative research, as I used a questionnaire to determine the knowledge of this phenomenon among art pedagogy students at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana and their opinion regarding the implementation and analysis of thematic connections of my exhibited sculptural works with theoretical work.
