The state of the environment is very important today, as we are facing major environmental problems such as pollution and global warming. Everyone has to do their part to improve the situation, otherwise it will be bad for the planet. Public authorities also contribute to this through green public procurement, which aims to use less harmful products and/or services to meet their needs.
The aim of this diploma is to study the green public procurement regime in Slovenia and to compare it with Spain. The research used a theoretical method, namely a review of existing literature and sources, and an analytical and comparative method to investigate and compare the countries in detail. As part of the research, we found that the two countries have similar green public procurement regimes, as both follow European Union guidelines and directives.
The contribution of the diploma is a detailed breakdown of green public procurement in general as well as in both countries. The analysis of selected concrete examples and the comparison of the countries themselves is also key. From this, it is clear what improvements can be made to the current system as well as for both countries.
