The master thesis deals with the political guidelines for the strategic development of land transport as shaped by European and Slovenian policies. Due to the integration of the Slovenian transport network into the TEN-T pan-European network, the thesis analyses Slovenian and European policy documents and programs on transport development strategies. A strategy is a political document that sets out a vision, objectives and measures for the development of transport in a particular country or community of countries. A review of current national strategies and action plans has shown that the Transport Development Strategy in the Republic of Slovenia takes into account the guidelines of European policies that put sustainable forms of mobility and the aspiration to establish a single European transport area at the forefront.
