Abstract
Danes, štirideset let kasneje še vedno preživlja tranzicijo; delno je v zasebni lasti, delno javna, nima nobene strategije in nobenega dolgoročnega načrta. Zaradi tega stoji stavba zapuščena in degradirana in to na zelo strateški lokaciji v mestu. Tema revitalizacije ne vključuje zgolj obnavljanje obstoječega delovanja železniške, avtobusne postaje in pošto. Terja tudi razmislek o prihodnosti, udejanjanje potenciala in novo programsko zasnovo.

Title:Revitalisation of the Transportation Centre in Skopje
Abstract:
Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, it stands proudly on hundreds of pillars that hold a strong platform for trains. The building was completed in the 1980s and today, 40 years later, it is still in transition, half privatized, half public, with no strategy or long-term plan for how it will operate, as it lies abandoned and degraded in a very strategic location in the city. The topic of revitalization does not only mean renewing the existing operation of the Railway and Bus Station and the Post Office, but also thinking about the future, exploiting potential and new program design. This program design is made after a great analysis of the programs and what is missing in the city today. I realized that in order for the building to come back to life, it would be imperative to offer different programs for different communities of people. One of these was the program of the fair. The fair has a strong role in offering new inventions to society and is a place where new ideas, tradition, science and culture meet. It is necessary to preserve the existing programs such as the post office, railway and bus station, but with consideration of new ways of use and environmentally friendly interventions. During the planning and spatial renovation, I treated the building as a cultural heritage of great importance, and I wanted to restore and make a friendlier space for visitors and users of the transport center (TC) with the smallest possible changes. By revitalizing this space, I emphasize the reuse of something that is forgotten and degraded, a new center in the city, conection between the center and other parts of the city, between the city and another city, and between the city and its inhabitants.
