In this work, I present experimental data on the measurement of freezing point temperature, viscosity and density of eutectic solvents of mixtures of thymol and octanoic acid, which I prepared in the molar ratios of 1:3, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1 and measured their freezing points. I measured their viscosity and density at temperatures between 10 °C and 45 °C, in intervals of 5 °C. I present the results in the form of tables and graphs.
Eutectic solvents represent a newer replacement for ionic liquids, due to their similar physicochemical properties and characteristics. Their preparation is easier, cheaper and more environmentally friendly. That is why they are increasingly used in the pharmaceutical industry.
