Eko-plemenitenje bombaža z ekstraktom listov octovca

V sklopu diplomskega dela je bilo raziskano eko-plemenitenje beljene bombažne tkanine z ekstraktom listov octovca. Ekstrakti octovca so bili pripravljeni z vročo in s hladno deionizirano vodo, v štirih koncentracijah od 5 do 40 g/L. Vzorci bombažne tkanine so bili barvani po izčrpalnem postopku, pri kopelnem razmerju 1 : 40, pri 60 °C za 60 minut. Nebarvanim in barvanim vzorcem sta bila pred in po pranju izmerjena barva (CIELAB) ter določena globina obarvanja (K/S), antioksidativna aktivnost (AA%) in ultravijolični zaščitni faktor (UZF). Priprava ekstrakta z vročo ali s hladno vodo bistveno ne vpliva na rezultate, a ima na rezultate velik vpliv koncentracija ekstrakta za barvanje bombažne tkanine. Barvanje z višjo koncentracijo ekstrakta povzroči temnejše, manj zeleno in bolj rumeno obarvanje bombažne tkanine, izredno visoko antioksidativno aktivnost (nad 94 %) in odlično zaščito pred UV-sevanjem (UZF = 50+). Vzorci so imeli slabo barvno obstojnost na pranje, prav tako se je antioksidativnost znižala pod 30 %, kljub temu so prani vzorci izkazovali zadovoljivo do dobro zaščito pred UV-sevanjem.

• Title: Eco-finishing of cotton with staghorn sumac leaf extract

Abstract

In the diploma thesis, the eco-finishing of bleached cotton fabric with extracts from staghorn sumac leaves was investigated. The extracts from staghorn sumac leaves extracts were prepared with hot and cold deionised water, in four concentrations ranging from 5 to 40 g/L. Cotton fabric samples were exhaust dyed at a liquor to goods ratio of 40:1, at 60 °C for 60 minutes. The undyed and dyed samples were analysed for colour (CIELAB), colour yield (K/S), antioxidant activity (AA%) and ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) before and after washing. The preparation of the extract with hot or cold water had no significant influence on the results, but the concentration of the extract used to dye the cotton fabric did. Dyeing with higher extract concentrations results in darker, less green and more yellow colouration of the cotton fabric, extremely high antioxidant activity (over 94 %) and excellent UV protection (UPF = 50+). The samples showed poor colour fastness to washing, the antioxidant activity was also reduced to below 30 %, but the washed samples showed satisfactory to good UV protection.
