Drža kočevarskih župnikov in usoda njihovih župnij ob preselitvi kočevskih Nemcev

Prispevek obravnava v slovenskem zgodovinopisju doslej prezrto tematiko odnosa kočevarskih župnikov in župnijskih upraviteljev do preselitve kočevskih Nemcev leta 1941. V njihovih vrstah sta se izoblikovali skupini nasprotnikov in podpornikov preselitve. Posledično so trije župniki ostali in s preostalimi župljani delili dogodke in preizkušnje medvojnega in povojnega časa, drugi trije pa so se s svojimi župljani preselili v okolico Krškega in Brežic ter se maja 1945 izselili v Avstrijo. Skupaj s svojimi preseljenimi in izseljenimi župljani so v treh letih in pol dvakrat doživeli izgubo ,domovine‘. Kočevska je po preselitvi kočevskih Nemcev postala in ostala bolj ali manj izpraznjena dežela. Med vojno in po njej je bila sistematično uničena njihova sakralna in kulturna dediščina, ki so jo v izjemno skromnih razmerah in pogojih skušali ohraniti preostali prebivalci skupaj s svojimi dušnimi pastirji.

• Title: The stance of the parish priests of Kočevska and the fate of their parishes during the resettlement of the Germans from Kočevska region

Abstract

This paper tackles the hitherto overlooked topic in Slovenian historiography of the attitude of the priests and parish administrators of the Kočevska region towards the resettlement of the Germans from Kočevska in 1941. In their ranks, groups of opponents and supporters of resettlement formed. As a result, three parish priests remained and shared with their flock the trials of the interwar and postwar period, while the other three moved with their parishioners to the surroundings of Krško and Brežice, and emigrated to Austria in May 1945. Together with their relocated and emigrated parishioners they experienced the loss of “homeland” twice in three and a half years. After the resettlement of the Germans from Kočevska, the region became and remained more or less empty. During and after the war, their sacral and cultural heritage was systematically destroyed, which the remaining inhabitants and their priests tried to preserve in indescribably modest circumstances.
