Abstract

Title:Relationship as man’s experience of Transcendence
Abstract:
Ever since man has existed, his religious activity has been present on our planet, so belief has been also present all this time. We posit the thesis that man will continue to strive for what is beyond him in the future too. In our paper, we namely show that belief is very closely related to the relationship. Since man is a Being in a Relationship, he is also Homo Religiosus. The essential activity of a being in a relationship is the search for a partner with whom he found himself in a relationship. When a person in relation to another does not only recognize the other, which he experiences with his senses, but in relation to the other, he also recognizes the relation to the Other, who otherwise surpasses man, and yet He allows himself to be recognized by man in the relation, the person becomes a believer. When a person addresses another whom he sees, hears and feels with “you”, he communicates with someone from his world. But when one addresses Someone who is beyond the ability to be experienced by human senses with “You”, one communicates with Transcendence or man expresses his faith by prayer. Man experiences Transcendence in interpersonal relationships. Namely, faith is the ability to recognize the presence of Transcendence in its absence or it is the ability to recognize the presence of the Other in relation to the other. This ability, along with the ability to communicate, is preserved in humanity from generation to generation.
