Curse words, insults, threats, inappropriate vocabulary, vulgarisms, etc. are just some of the forms of inappropriate and problematic communication that modern societies can potentially limit due to its negative effects. In the master's thesis, we presented various concepts related to this type of communication and aimed to encompass them under the umbrella of socially unacceptable speech. This includes the broadest range of manifestations, from incivility to hate speech. In the theoretical part, we then predominantly focused on incivil and intolerant communication. In the empirical part, we examined their relationship on Facebook comments collected on the topic of migrants and LGBT within the framework of the FRENK (2018) project; we coded them according to incivility and intolerance. The results showed that the association between incivility and intolerance appeared to a lesser extent than we expected.
