The concept of the 15-minute city, authored by Carlos Moreno, has gained prominence in recent years as a sustainable urban planning approach. In the 15-minute city, the most basic services are accessible to residents within a 15-minute walk from home, and the neighbourhood has the functions of living, shopping, education, healthcare and entertainment. In the master's thesis, the concept of the 15-minute city is studied on the example of Maribor. The study uses spatial analysis and geographic information systems to assess the current accessibility of services in different urban districts and local communities within the Maribor Municipality. The primary criterion is whether these services can be reached within a 15-minute walking radius. The findings reveal significant disparities in service accessibility across various urban districts and local communities. Accessibility is good in compact urban areas and poor in suburban outskirts. To address this, the Master's thesis proposes measures to enhance accessibility in specific neighbourhoods, aiming to transform Maribor into a true 15-minute city.
