Abstract
V teoretičnem uvodu opredeljujem branje in bralno pismenost, nadalje predstavim tipe bralcev, tipe branja in motivacijo za branje. V petem poglavju predstavim najpogostejše bralno spodbujevalne projekte v srednjih šolah. Bralno spodbujevalni projekti so pomemben del nadgrajevanja bralne pismenosti mladostnikov.

Title:Reading encouraging projects in high schools
Abstract:
The paper is a research of reading encouraging projects in slovenian high schools. In theoretical part it defines reading and reading literacy, then it introduces types of readers, types of reading and motivation for reading. The fifth chapter introduces the most common reading encouraging projects in high schools. Reading encouraging projects are important part of improving reading literacy. In higher grades of primary school and in high schools we expect from pupils that they know how to read, but none of the school subjects is verifying that. It is important to encourage literacy through extracurricular activities, such as reading badge, book clubs, national month of shared reading, project Growing with book etc. In the secound part of the paper I research which reading encouraging projects are being organised in slovenian high schools and how are they carried out. A short questionnaire was sent to all slovenian high schools, directed to school's library and school's secretary. The questionnaire was answered by 131 people. 32 slovenian high scools organize Book clubs, 25 schools organize Reading badge, 15 schools participate in the National month of shared reading and 6 schools organize a library club. Individual schools organize projects Sport and reading, Book night/night in the library, Mountain reading, Reading for a 5, Reading chest, blind Date with the book, Slovene has long tongue, Exchange reading and dreaming and Hug.
