Abstract
Diplomsko delo z naslovom Gorskokolesarski turizem v Britanski Kolumbiji v teoretičnem okviru obravnava temeljne koncepte gorskega kolesarjenja kot turistične dejavnosti ter poudarja pomen trajnostnega turizma. Geografski opis Britanske Kolumbije izpostavlja naravne značilnosti in raznolikost terenov, ki privabljajo ljubitelje gorskega kolesarjenja z vsega sveta. Poglavje o gorskokolesarskem turizmu v Britanski Kolumbiji analizira njegov razvoj, priljubljenost ter ekonomske učinke na lokalno gospodarstvo. V nadaljevanju raziskuje tako pozitivne kot negativne vplive gorskokolesarskega turizma na okolje v Britanski Kolumbiji in predstavlja izzive ter priložnosti za trajnostno upravljanje kolesarskih poti. Celotno diplomsko delo ponuja celovit vpogled v dinamiko gorskokolesarskega turizma v Britanski Kolumbiji ter poudarja potrebo po uravnoteženem razvoju turizma, ki spoštuje in ohranja naravne vire te kanadske province.
