Magistrsko delo temelji na tematski obravnavi štirih romanov: Težka voda slovenske pisateljice Pie Prezelj, Starec in jaz slovenskega pisatelja Sarivala Sosiča, No te veré morir španskega pisatelja Antonia Muñoza Moline in Memoria de mis putas tristes kolumbijskega pisatelja Gabriela Garcíe Márqueza. Analizira motiv starosti kot življenjskega obdobja, ki sega onkraj negativnih označb družbe in obravnava starostnike z vsemi njihovimi neizrečenimi in nerazumljenimi osebnimi stiskami, ki so prepletene z neomajno vztrajnostjo premagovati vsakdan in razumeti smisel življenja.

Abstract

The master's thesis is based on the thematic analysis of four novels: Težka voda by the Slovenian writer Pia Prezelj, Starec in jaz by the Slovenian writer Sarival Sosič, No te veré morir by the Spanish writer Antonio Muñoz Molina and Memoria de mis putas tristes by the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. It analyses the motif of the period of old age as a stage of life that goes beyond the negative labels of society and addresses the elderly with all their unspoken and misunderstood personal struggles, which are intertwined with their unwavering determination to overcome everyday challenges and understand the meaning of life.
