Abstract
Razumevanje razlik med presežkom hrane, odpadno hrano in izgubo hrane je ključno za uporabo presežkov hrane za krmo živali in spodbujanje trajnosti. Živalska krma je prva smiselna strategija za ravnanje s presežki hrane. Presežna hrana, ki vključuje končna živila, delno pripravljene proizvode ali živilske sestavine, se lahko pojavi v različnih fazah proizvodnje in distribucije živil iz različnih razlogov. Za zagotavljanje standardne in konstantne kakovosti nekdanjih živil je ključnega pomena redno spremljanje in nadzorovanje. Pekarski izdelki in testenine so primerni za predelavo v krmo za živali, saj lahko zagotovimo varnost uporabe. Imajo prehransko in krmilno vrednost, ki je primerna za različne vrste in kategorije živali. Izboljšanje učinkovitosti dobavne verige s preprečevanjem nastajanja presežkov hrane je ključno za zmanjševanje odpadne hrane.

Title:Possibilities and potentials of using bakery and pasta surpluses as animal feed
Abstract:
It is important to distinguish between food waste and surplus food in order to use surplus food for animal feed and promote sustainability. The first sensible approach to dealing with surplus food is to feed it to animals. Food surpluses can occur at different stages of food production and distribution for different reasons. These are ready-to-eat, partially prepared meals or food ingredients. Routine monitoring and control is essential to ensure the standard and quality of the food produced to date. Products from bakeries and pasta manufacturers can be processed into animal feed as their use is guaranteed safe. Due to their nutritional and feed value, they are suitable for different animal species and categories.
