Abstract
Cilj diplomskega dela je prikazati, kako se v grafični knjižnici WebGPU implementira sence. Opisane so tri metode za generiranje senc v realnem času, in sicer metoda ravninskih senc, metoda lepljenja senc in metoda volumetričnih senc. Implementacija uporabi usmerjeno svetlobo, pri vsaki metodi pa je predstavljena tudi rešitev za točkaste luči. Velik poudarek je na metodi volumetričnih senc, saj se njena implementacija v WebGPU najbolj razlikuje od ostalih grafičnih knjižnic. Metode so tudi primerjane med seboj, in sicer na podlagi njihove hitrosti ter njihove natančnosti. Na koncu sledi razprava o tem, v katerih primerih so posamezne metode uporabljene.

Title:Real-time shadows in WebGPU
Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to show how to implement shadows in the WebGPU graphics library. Three methods for real-time shadow generation are described, namely the planar shadow method, the shadow mapping method, and the volumetric shadows method. The implementation uses directional light, and for each method, a solution for point light is presented as well. A great emphasis is placed on the volumetric shadow method, as its implementation differs the most from other graphics libraries. The methods are also compared to each other, based on their speed and accuracy. At the end, there is a discussion about the cases in which individual methods are used.
