Abstract
V diplomski nalogi smo opredelili vzroke in posledice poplavnega dogodka avgusta 2023.

Title:
Analysis of the august 2023 flood event in the watershed of the Meža river : graduation thesis
Abstract:
Floods are one of the most serious natural disasters, often severely affecting people and causing damage to property. Flood risks can occur suddenly and often without warning. Despite being part of the natural water regime, residential and industrial construction is still taking place in flood-prone areas, as well as activities that increase the potential for damage. Inadequate spatial planning over the past decades contributed to the extensive property damage caused by the catastrophic floods of 2023. The causes and consequences of the flood event in August 2023 were identified in the thesis. Meteorological and hydrological data, digital orthophotos taken after the flood event, the flood footprint, flood hazard classes, firefighting interventions, Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping data, the actual land use and the land-use designations were used as the basis for the analysis. Due to the extensive data available, the analysis was carried out on three areas in the municipality of Črna na Koroškem. Comparative analyses between the different data were carried out, resulting in comparative maps and data tables.
