Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava življenje Katarine Aragonske, španske princese in kasneje angleške kraljice.

Title:Catherine of Aragon: from Spanish princess to queen of England : diplomsko delo
Abstract:
The diploma deals with the life of Catherine of Aragon, Spanish princess and later Queen of England. Catherine of Aragon had a very important position, as she was the last daughter of two of the greatest monarchs of the time and was therefore important to other European countries due to her dynastic and political connection with Spain. She was married to Prince Arthur of England, son of Henry VII. Tudor, but Arthur died shortly after the wedding and, convinced that she was destined to become Queen of England, she married his younger brother Henry VIII. seven years later. In the early stages of their marriage she had a strong influence on him as his adviser, and in the war against Scotland in 1513, when Henry was in France, she brought victory to England as regent. She had a respected social position and many allies. Her loyalty to the Catholic Church and her resistance to Henry's attempts to annul the marriage led to the establishment of the Church of England.
